Visit open houses, get to know the realtors. Don´t assume the realtor representing the open house is the listing agent. You may find it is a new or experienced realtor looking for "spin off" business. What this means is that if you purchase that home, they will be the buyer`s representative and receive one end of the commission. If the home is not suitable, they are hoping spin you off onto another home that is suitable. This is very common and a good way to meet realtors.
